Today is a sad day for Kentucky Politics. Pat Crowley, political reporter for the Kentucky Enquirer for the past 17 years, has announced his resignation, effective September 25th.
Pat Crowley has always been fair with the LPKY, NKYchoice, and other various organizations which have been ignored by other media outlets in the state (and one in particular).
I am trying to remember when I really met Pat Crowley. I believe it was during the Brian Houillion for Congress 2006 campaign.
I know we met again, at the Gun Rights Policy Conference held in Northern Kentucky, where I introduced Eric Cranley (now LPKY Secretary) to Pat.
I never will forget the night in Latonia, in 2008, after a Covington Commission debate. That was hillarious. Schadler's megaphone in the parking lot. Legends for drinks afterward.
Asking the first question to Beshear at the Town Hall. Ha!
And of course, the opportunity to spread the LP message on your ICN show (which you're thankfully continuing). I still get people I don't know that come up to me randomly and say "Hey, you're that smoking guy".
Pat - On behalf of the LPKY, I wish you the very, very best in your new project. Northern Kentucky politics can't be the same without you. No one worked as hard to make sure to get all sides of a story than you did.
I hope that our paths will continue to cross. Any time you want to go get a drink, we'll get the local gang together and gladly meet you at the bar of your choosing.
