There was an issue with these forums, where responses were not showing up and requiring manual approval. That should now be resolved.
Additionally, the responses now show up in a style common to a number of other websites, with a threaded list below the original post. This should assist in keeping track of particular tangents off of posted topics.
You do still need an account on the system to post to the forums. No anonymous posting. That just makes a mess.
they could always post. there was a permissions problem in reading what was posted. that was also resolved.
considering we have other stuff to do that's of a much higher priority, i don't see any other features coming anytime soon.
the forums are functional and that was the main priority.
and we had originally integrated phpBB with this site, but the user integration (single sign-on) was malfunctional, so that was scrapped for the built-in forums, as having a single login/pw was considered a higher priority than having all the bells and whistles.
