LPKY 2009 Convention information and registration

LPKY supporters -

Just a quick note that we have the LPKY 2009 State Convention information and registration online.

We're very excited to be able to do a combined convention with LPIN. LPIN is the most effective LP organization in the country, as they have people in local office - in both non-partisan and partisan offices.

The convention is going to be held in Clarksville, Indiana. It's a suburb of Louisville, KY. The location was chosen for 2 reasons: 1. We needed a location that bordered Kentucky and Indiana; and 2. Clarksville doesn't have a smoking ban (in contrast to Louisville, KY and Jeffersonville, IN).

The agenda is a draft, and subject to change, but what's currently posted should remain the same, barring unforeseen circumstances. We have a few Saturday morning workshops in the works, including one for candidates (which is my personal pet project, outside of my chair duties, for the LPKY).

Registration pricing was the main thing for LPKY. Kentucky is (unfortunately) not the economic powerhouse that it could be; keeping prices low to give higher levels of accessibility for our members was a critical part of this planning.

I encourage our members to participate in as much as possible. The Saturday Dinner shouldn't be missed, if it's within your budget. Wayne Root gives a great, emotional appeal for small businesses. Radley Balko from Reason Magazine will be speaking as well.

A special thanks to Greg Hertzsch (LPIN) and Daniel Defoe (LPKY), our convention coordinators for each state party.
