The Calls to War

In 2001, while the World Trade Center was still burning, elements in Washington were planning an attack against the enemies who perpetrated the attacks, but they also figured out how to use the tragedy to their own advantage. Ironically, this is happening once again.

Neda Soltan was slain cruelly and brutally by pro-Ayatollah militias. She wasn't the only victim, but she was the only one with a clear cellphone video of her moment of death. Now, the drums are beating for some sort of retribution from the "free" nations of the world.

The calls are clear, and the propaganda efforts are unmistakable. The neocons and their allies are once again building up the backstory for a war effort. We need to be aware of our emotions and channel them into productive venues, which do not include, in my opinion, the invasion of Iran.

The lesson from this is stark: An all-powerful state will crush the dissent of its citizens. We have let our Federal Government become just as proactively antithetical and all-powerful as the student killers in Tehran. We will face many sacrifices before we win our own liberation, which is exactly the process the Iranian students are undergoing right now.

Our socialist state and the Federal Reserve System that enables it are more of an enemy than any force outside our borders, and they will be no less fervent in their own self-preservation than the government of Iran has been. We would do well to prepare ourselves mentally for the coming unpleasant step of unwinding our own totalitarian fetters.
