LPKY Holds 2010 State Convention
- The LPKY held its 2010 State Convention February 26th - 28th at The Inn on Broadway, in Lexington, Kentucky.
- This convention featured:
- Morning business meeting, including candidate endorsement, include significant Party Constitution changes, and District Chair elections.
- Guest speakers from Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, Gatewood Galbraith, and Daniel Williams.
- Campaign training, for both candidates and campaign staffers.
- A great after-hours social event in the evenings.
- The event was a huge success and everyone had a wonderful time. We thank the Inn on Broadway for the wonderful venue at a very reasonable rate, which opened up the convention to more members than in recent years.
LPKY Membership Dues take effect!
- At the LPKY 2009 State Convention, the dues structure was voted upon by the members in attendance, and the annual fee to remain a voting member of the party, after November 15th, 2009 is $30 per year, $20 of which is passed to the District Party, when applicable.
- Those that paid full price for the 2009 convention were grandfathered in as dues-paying members until May 2010.
- These funds are used to fund basic operations (such as phone and mail services) at the state level, and are used for outreach and county development at the district level. Please donate or pledge today.
2010 Libertarian Party National Convention
- The 2010 National Convention is coming. It will be held over Memorial Day weekend, in St Louis, MO. Delegates and alternate delegates were elected at the State Party Convention, but not all positions were filled. Contact your District Chair or State Party At-Large Representative
New candidates preparing for 2010 throughout Kentucky.
- Exciting news is coming about our candidates. If you'd like to be a candidate, it's not too late. Contact your District Chair as soon as possible.
Membership continues upward!
- Our state membership numbers continue to grow! Our largest new-member demographic is the 18 to 35 age group, which helps ensure the future of the party. We continue to have a growing momentum in our direction. We must continue to seize these opportunities.
Online meeting organization turns to facebook
- The LPKY is discontinuing all previously-used forms of online organizing, which were an annual cost to the State Party with little return.
